This role will involve a hands-on approach to helping clients to use technology to improve their current processes. The successful candidate will get exposure to important stakeholders from across the firm as well as many of their most important clients. The role holder will have a key role in driving client activity for our client’s technology offerings, the ability to influence their go-to-market strategies and will help us achieve success for clients in an ever-changing tax landscape.
The firm’s clients are going through unprecedented change due to increased pressures from regulators, cost pressures and the rapid advance of technology. This means that clients’ finance and tax functions need to evolve and adapt their current processes to be fit for the future. This has given our client an excellent opportunity to reimagine how they can meet the needs of their clients using emerging technologies to enhance their services.
The role
Our client creates intuitive software that can be used both by the firm and their clients (as Software-as-a-Service) and they are now at a pivotal point where they need to scale their market approach and drive activity in the market.
Our client needs a tax professional with a passion for technology to influence the next steps in their journey, to help support their go-to-market strategy and support a range of client activity. They need leaders, experts and visionaries who can bring fresh thinking, new approaches and different perspectives to help build a practice that will solve the problems of the future.
By joining our client, you will get the opportunity to build your experience in developing new business and client demonstrations to drive software sales. This person will also work directly on the delivery of the software to clients including training, implementations and supporting clients to ensure they have the best experience.
Key responsibilities
- Contributing to our client’s strategy, business plans, developing their capabilities and their people
- Be responsible for demonstrating the firm’s technology offerings to both internal stakeholders and clients
- Manage proposals and delivery of software to clients including drafting proposal materials, running training sessions, software implementations and ongoing support to ensure clients have the best experience with the software
- Advise and influence the firm’s senior Tax stakeholders regarding the technology offerings to drive internal adoption of the team’s technologies across sub-service lines within the firm
- Contribute to the broader tax business by identifying new opportunities to sell software to clients, as well as identifying areas where the firm can enhance and optimise the delivery of their services to clients using technology
- Lead the development of the firm’s standardised approach to implementation and customer success
- Work with the product management team to enhance the firm’s propositions and use this to grow existing client revenue
- Work with other team members, learn from respective experiences and help develop skills within the team
- Understand the wider tax technology environment and the firm’s service offerings in this area to cross sell to clients
Skills and attributes
- Experience managing or supporting ongoing client projects, development of clear project plans and delivery of agreed services. Experience with technology-related projects is not required but good to have.
- A passion for technology and a desire to learn more about how technology can be used to help support clients
- Strong communication skills, the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and willingness to share / challenge ideas
- Experience managing and coaching junior team members including managing their workload and providing constructive and timely feedback
- A strong commercial acumen with the ability to apply this to developing, implementing, and measuring a long term and sustainable strategy
- Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out effective reviews and know when to refer for support
- Strong time management skills and an ability to work efficiently with little supervision and with a high degree of self-motivation

Ideally, you will also have
- ACA / CTA qualified or equivalent qualifications
- Experience delivering large and complex projects
- Experience of at least one of the following areas and be interested in building skills in the others:
- Tax compliance and reporting
- Accounting and finance
- Working in tax technology on the development and/or the implementation of technology
