Senior Manager, Indirect Tax Technology

Location – Dublin, Ireland


The Role:

The Senior Manager – Indirect Tax Technology will oversee and manage our client projects focused on indirect tax processes, data, and technology solutions. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in indirect tax compliance and advisory, with a strong background in implementing and optimising tax technology systems, particularly SAP. This role requires a combination of tax technical knowledge, technology proficiency, and project management skills to deliver effective solutions to clients. As technology and AI continue to evolve, the candidate should also have experience in indirect tax data optimisation and a strong interest in upskilling in AI technologies such as machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), and robotic process automation (RPA).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee our clients indirect tax technology projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and the highest quality standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on indirect tax matters, with a focus on leveraging technology to enhance tax functions and compliance.
  • Manage SAP indirect tax technology implementations, offering strategic advice on configuration and customization to align with client needs.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to assess tax data and generate actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business challenges and identifying opportunities for tax technology improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and tax professionals, to develop and implement integrated solutions.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.



Skills and attributes:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax, with a specialization in indirect tax.
  • Prior experience in a Big 4 or similar professional services environment.
  • Expert knowledge of SAP tax-related modules and functionality.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and relevant tools/software.
  • Proven track record in project management, including leading teams and managing client relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax and technology concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Commitment to continuous learning in tax technology and evolving indirect tax regulations.
