The role
To create and oversee the establishment of Ethics and Compliance policies and protocols, and to take charge of executing ethics and compliance initiatives for the designated corporate/business function(s), aligning with the ethics and compliance program. The goal is to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and policies, uphold ethical practices, and identify and mitigate ethics and compliance-related risks.
- Lead investigations into local and international laws to ensure the company aligns with current regulations, driving internal policy implementation.
- Review ethics and compliance policies for alignment with applicable laws.
- Create and sustain a system to oversee policy updates, approvals, and reviews.
- Oversee enforcement to ensure adherence to corporate governance standards.
- Spearhead ethics and compliance projects for designated corporate/business functions following the company’s program for risk management.
- Identify, assess, and analyze ethics and compliance risks for the company.
- Analyze audit findings to devise effective ethics and compliance strategies.
- Monitor assigned risk areas, ensuring compliance with established standards and efficient risk mitigation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in law from a globally acknowledged institution of higher education.
- Appropriate credentialing, like Certification of Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of progressive and increasingly intricate senior-level engagement in ethics and compliance or regulatory enforcement management.
- Ideally, a background in a distinguished global entity or involvement across diverse industries in the UK or USA.
- Extra applicable experience is beneficial.
- Proficient understanding of ethics and compliance methodologies and tactics, along with the capability to utilize cutting-edge approaches to devise and manage an ethics and compliance project customized to suit our client’s specific business needs and aligned with the ethics and compliance program.
- Familiarity with both domestic and global ethics and compliance prerequisites, as well as awareness of laws, regulations, and legislative measures.
- Robust communication and interpersonal abilities, enabling effective conveyance of ethics and compliance topics and issues to different internal stakeholders across various tiers within the organization.
