Location – Blackburn, Lancashire
Our client is a leading global independent fuel station and convenience retail operator with operations at over 5,600 sites across Continental Europe, the United Kingdom, North America and Australia. The Group provides fuel, convenience retail and food to go to consumers through partnerships with global brands including Starbucks, Subway, Spar, Greggs, KFC and Burger King.
The group are now looking to expand its existing tax team through the recruitment of a Corporate Tax Compliance Manager to assist with UK tax compliance and Group reporting.
Reporting to the International Tax Manager, you will provide assistance with the entire external reporting and compliance process. Based in the North West, this position will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the business produces timely, accurate and compliant figures to the group and external parties. The ideal candidate will be ACA/CTA qualified with compliance and reporting experience gained in a Big 4 accountancy firm, as well as some knowledge of US GAAP.
The day-to-day role will be to provide assistance with managing the Group corporate tax compliance process. This will include; quarterly and annual consolidated reporting for the Group; financial statement tax disclosures for the stand alone UK entities; maintaining and reviewing Corporate Tax SAO and CCO procedures and documentation; transfer pricing; country-by-country reporting, diverted profit tax and monitoring the position on controlled foreign companies.
Your key responsibilities
- Collaborate with finance teams in all jurisdictions to provide details on accounting processes and transactions
- Build and maintain relationships with key finance personnel across the business
- Preparation of quarterly/year end group tax disclosures in US GAAP
- Regular review of group forecasts for accounting and tax planning purposes
- Preparation of year end standalone tax disclosures for UK statutory financial statements in IFRS
- Oversee compliance process for non UK entities to ensure that deadlines are being worked to by finance personnel and assist with any tax related queries
- Working with external advisers on the production of UK corporate income tax computations including preparation of UK capital allowances analysis, detailed review of tax treatment of transaction fees, and review of the corporate interest restriction calculation

Skills and attributes
- Big 4 experience desired
- Corporate Tax experience for large companies and consolidated groups, which includes tax accounting and compliance
- Exposure to financial reporting under US GAAP
- A strong UK Tax technical skill set
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- IT literate with advanced Excel skills
- Exposure to International Tax matters would be beneficial
- Ability to adapt and respond to on-going change in business
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent communication skills
