Tax Analyst

Location – Wokingham

This exciting new opportunity is to assist in our client’s tax planning and compliance for their multiple entities in Europe covering Transfer Pricing and International Tax Advisory support, Tax Compliance, Group reporting under U.S GAAP, payments of corporation tax, as well as providing support to the wider finance team on other statutory accounting/legal matters when required.

Our client is is a leading provider of embedded control applications whose product portfolio comprises general purpose and specialized 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit microcontrollers, 32-bit microprocessors, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) products, a broad spectrum of high-performance linear, mixed-signal, power management, thermal management, radio frequency (RF), timing, safety, security, wired connectivity and wireless connectivity devices, as well as serial Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM), Serial Flash memories, Parallel Flash memories, and serial Static Random Access Memory (SRAM).

Your key responsibilities

  • Corporation tax planning for European subsidiaries working closely with external advisors and internally with finance groups in Europe and the US, including legal entity rationalisation
  • Responsibility for ensuring all tax provisioning for European entities is being accurately reflected (OneSource/Baan experience a plus)
  • Liaising with external advisors to complete UK and Ireland tax returns
  • Reviewing and assisting with the co-ordination of transfer pricing documentation prepared by external advisors and country by country notifications for European entities
  • Involvement in any tax advisory, restructuring and Transfer Pricing work that is being carried out in Europe
  • Preparing corporate tax provisions and disclosures for UK and Ireland statutory accounts
  • Assistance with maintaining appropriate tax governance frameworks.
  • Involvement in any tax audits for Europe
  • Providing assistance to the Financial accounting team/Financial Accountant with the preparation of UK & European statutory/non-statutory accounts and liaising with external advisors on audits
  • Providing support to the wider finance teams on other legal/company secretarial matters such as Annual returns/confirmation statements

Skills and attributes

  • Willingness to travel within territory, with occasional travel elsewhere in Europe and US for specific training
  • Must be able to speak English and other European language skills would be advantageous
  • If not already possessing a tax specific qualification, the ideal candidate will display willingness to study and obtain relevant external body tax qualifications

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Post degree Accounting/Tax qualification such as ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA,
  • Experience of UK/European tax legislation
