Our client’s Outsourcing department is responsible for clients’ back office financial functions. The team will complete all monthly ledger work booking of accruals and prepayments, fixed assets, and completion of monthly management accounts. Controlling bank accounts and bank reconciliations and in some cases make payments on behalf of the client or set up the payment runs for their approval and release.
The role
The Outsourcing Associate Director will be responsible for managing and overseeing the outsourcing team, ensuring that all outsourced accounting functions are completed accurately and in a timely manner. The role involves leading and being accountable for service delivery to clients, including client relationship development and management.
They will assist and support the team in providing quality accounting services to clients and promote the Outsourcing business through networking and active promotional activities within and outside the firm.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and develop team members through coaching, training, and mentoring to enhance their skills and facilitate their professional growth.
- You will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee the delivery of compliance services, build strong client relationships, and actively drive new service opportunities.
- Oversee and review production of monthly management information including other client deliverables as required by each client.
- Maintain oversight of your team’s engagements and manage internal deliverables in line with agreed timelines.
- On all selected engagements, support the team in the high-quality provision of timely information for completion of annual statutory compliance.
- Proactively respond to problems and escalate any significant client or internal issues with a suggested course of action.
- Carry out relevant Authorised Individual responsibilities (management accounts/VAT reviewing).
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships by understanding our client businesses, including their goals, challenges, and opportunities.
- Continuously review current practices and procedures for efficiency and effectiveness, recommend and implement improvements where necessary.
Skills and attributes
To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience must include:
- Fully Qualified Accountant – ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
- Good organisation skills, ability to work to tight deadlines and flexible with working hours over month end.
- Manage and oversee the outsourcing team, including training, coaching, and performance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel.
- Display a good working knowledge of all relevant software packages (e.g., NetSuite, NAV, Sage).
- Experience in preparing monthly financial reports.
- Strong technical skills, including IFRS knowledge.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their outsourcing needs are met.
- Experience of managing and developing team members through coaching, training, and mentoring to enhance their skills and facilitate their professional growth.
