Manager, Senior Manager, Transfer Pricing

The role                          

Within our client’s International Tax Services (ITS) team, their global transfer pricing practice is recognised as a market leader in advising on relevant aspects of intercompany transactions. They offer depth of experience through a worldwide network of dedicated transfer pricing economists and tax professionals. Providing a fully integrated approach to transfer pricing, the firm’s transfer pricing professionals undertake the following:

  • Assistance with the preparation of transfer pricing policy and preparation of transfer pricing planning reports
  • Preparation of transfer pricing documentation to substantiate transfer pricing positions taken
  • Assistance with transfer pricing aspects of tax authority queries or formal audits
  • Where companies would like up-front certainty on transfer pricing positions, assisting with applications for and negotiations of rulings and Advanced Pricing Agreements (APAs)
  • Transfer pricing planning, including Operating Model Effectiveness projects that seek to obtain tax benefits from business restructuring
  • Acting as the preferred advisor to multinational companies, addressing ad hoc transfer pricing queries


Key responsibilities

  • Analyse information, apply economic and financial knowledge to client situations, and develop effective approaches to clients’ financial circumstances.
  • Take a lead in developing recommendations and implementation plans.
  • Develop and deliver transfer pricing and economic ideas with timely, responsive services and work products, and identify opportunities for transfer pricing and other services.
  • Manage transfer pricing engagements and business development initiatives
  • Assist in managing engagement economics by organising staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders
  • Build strong internal relationships within the transfer pricing team and across other services
  • Coach and mentor staff


Skills and attributes

  • Degree in economics, law, finance, tax or accounting; a CPA or similar certification
  • At least 5 to 9 years of experience in transfer pricing or similar experience, with sound understanding of complex transfer pricing concepts
  • Strong managerial, organizational, project management and analytical skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
