Tax Manager, International Tax

The team forms part of the wider London Region team which consists of 5 offices: Cambridge, Watford, London, Gatwick and Milton Keynes. They work predominantly within local teams but also work really well across office teams too.

Often acting as the linchpin of the tax practice, the team often leads client relationships and help clients navigate tax complexities, such as changes in global tax policy, building new business models and structuring of transactions and financing. 

The team delivers holistic high quality tax advice to multiple C-suite stakeholders, often leading collaborative teams with the firm’s specialists to apply deep industry knowledge and commercial insight from the wider practice.  In this role, you’ll have opportunities to enhance your existing client relationship skills, build your leadership capabilities as well as your technical and commercial knowledge in a dynamic environment.  The team prides themselves on their supportive and meritocratic culture, and you’ll be part of an innovative community of people from many different professional and personal backgrounds.


The role                          

The London Region tax team is a fast-growing part of our client’s tax practice. This current vacancy is for a Corporate Tax Advisory Manager based in their London office.

Our client is looking for an excellent candidate with a proven track record who is seeking a dynamic and challenging working environment within a strong supportive leadership and management team. The marketplace is diverse with a client base of UK listed, PE backed, inbound and family owned groups.

The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships, develop and continue to build successful teams, provide excellent client service and identify business development opportunities. The team services many sectors and many different types of clients offering a wide range of opportunity. The variety of work is a strength of the team, and typically if there’s something you want to get involved in, you will find it across the wider team. That doesn’t mean they don’t specialise too. The team’s Partners and Directors often specialise in different sectors; varying from Retail, International Tax, Real Estate, Private Enterprise and Public Sector to name a few.
 

Key responsibilities

  • Be market facing with allocated clients and target organisations.
  • Lead by example with client relationships, technical quality and service delivery.
  • Being a leader within the team for personal growth and development.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and identifying leads for new work.
  • Managing teams and, coaching and developing staff to continue to build the team for the future.
  • Liaising with the client service team and with colleagues in other tax disciplines as well as the audit and accounting discipline to provide a co-ordinated service to the client.
  • Actively promote team and personal profile to internal networks in order to promote collaboration and increase internal leads
  • Being involved in business development and proposal activity
  • Hold and control high level conversations with senior stakeholders in the markets and be capable of introducing relevant specialists from across the firm
  • Identify key client issues that represent opportunities for the firm’s other teams to capitalise on and play active role in introductions.



Skills and attributes

  • Strong educational background (preferably 2:1 or higher University degree)
  • ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified with strong corporate tax and accounting knowledge
  • Note: Where corporation tax experience is achieved in the absence of qualifications, please do consider applying.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills
