Our client’s Tax Technology Team provides support to the Tax practice in advising on and in implementing the right technology solutions and helping them to design and execute the right tax technology strategy. This makes for a dynamic working environment where no two projects are the same.
The role
- Manage a team of developers on work deliverables.
- Understanding the business issues of our clients and determining what are the opportunities for technology to form part of the solution to those issues.
- Identifying the appropriate technology solutions and designing, developing and implementing those solutions.
- Liaising with the firm’s IT department.
- Project coordination within the Tax Technology team.
- Support the tax technology and transformation dedicated market offerings as appropriate.
Key responsibilities
- Work with Tax client teams to deliver and manage to deliver and manage IT/process projects/automation projects.
- Support engagement teams use of technology to improve efficiencies.
- Liaise with the firm’s central IT teams to deliver value added services and support.
- Support and report directly to senior management.
- Proposing, defining and documenting reusable solutions and fixes.
- Supporting and testing new/upgrades software and hardware.
- Creating statistics on usage of various applications.
- Documenting procedures for incident resolution.
Skills and attributes
Education/professional qualifications
- 3rd level computer degree in ICT area.
- Minimum 5 years experience operating at the senior support level.
- Project coordination experience.
- Knowledge and experience of using a formal Project Management methodology (eg. Prince2, Six Sigma ) would be very advantageous.

Technical knowledge
The following experience\skills would be advantageous:
- Programming skills in Python, C++, Java, Visual Basic or Google AppScript.
- Familiar with Robotic Process Automation tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism.
- Experience of data science tools like Alteryx, Dataiku or MS Power Query.
- Knowledge of data visualisation software such as Tableau, Power BI or Qlik.
- Knowledge of Windows operating system and application software including Word, Excel and Visio.
- Basic understanding of database technologies, like MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or MS Access databases.
