Corporate Tax Senior Associate, Real Estate

The role                          

This role will provide corporate tax compliance, advisory and accounting services to a range of clients from small start-ups to major multinationals, predominantly within the real estate and construction sector. 

The primary responsibility will involve working, and developing relationships, with clients to advise on corporate tax planning and restructuring projects in the UK, as well as producing complex UK tax computations and returns.

The transactional nature of clients in the real estate sector provides a great opportunity for junior members of the team to gain exposure to tax technical advisory work that extends beyond corporation tax to often include wider shareholder/investors considerations.


Key responsibilities        

Key to the role is for the individual to be able to pro-actively manage their own workload, communicating with managers/directors/partners on a regular basis to service their clients. This is essential due to the size and nature of the team. Furthermore, the individual will be expected to be able to consider and highlight further opportunities to develop new work.

  • Understanding of and previous experience within UK corporate tax compliance
  • Some experience of providing corporate tax advisory and compliance services to primarily corporate groups, but may include partnership tax returns and non-resident landlord income tax returns
  • Ability to prepare proposals for new work, including researching target client companies and on technical issues to identify new solutions
  • Ability to manage a small client portfolio
  • Ability to actively seek opportunities for selling new services to existing clients
  • Some experience of dealing with client senior management and key stakeholders
  • Keenness to develop a career within the real estate profession
  • Educated to degree level, and CTA and/or ACA qualified or equivalent
