Data Analyst Manager – GVCR Team

They are looking for a tax technology focused Data Analyst to join their Global VAT Compliance & Reporting (GVCR) team and deliver a wide variety of exciting projects.

 The GVCR team is a small, but very fast-growing team within the global arm of the firm’s Outsourcing practice. The GVCR team is responsible for outsourced indirect tax compliance to a large variety of UK and international clients where it works in conjunction with the company’s global network.

The team has recently hired a GVCR leader that is tasked to expand the team and to transform the GVCR processes in order to make market-leading and deal with a large volume of clients and client data.

You will actively lead initiatives to onboard new clients into the GVCR team, gather understanding of client data in order to transform it into an easily managed feed for the other GVCR team members. You will have primary responsibility for technical solution design and development for these workstreams based on Alteryx/ Power BI.

You will be working collaboratively with other specialist data analytics, data visualisation and innovation team members to design, plan and deliver a transformational strategy across the GVCR team, for which you will act as solution owner. As the GVCR team grows, you will also become responsible for the building of your own capability line within the GVCR team, to manage, develop this solution, and collaborate with other teams across the company.

You will work closely with our established VAT data analytics team to assist with cross-team projects where beneficial, and to ensure technical knowledge and commercial insight gained in any area of tax technology is shared within the wider team and capitalised on to drive new ideas and enhanced client solutions.

You will also work closely with our central data analytics team and centre of excellence, sharing ideas and following guidelines and best practices in the use of the company’s chosen data analytics tools.



Skills and Attributes 

The individual should be a self-starter who is happy with responsibility, wants to work in a dynamic environment and has the flexibility to take the lead and manage multiple engagements/projects with different teams on a simultaneous basis across all Tax service lines. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for problem solving and strategic thinking, as well as in-depth specialist technical experience.

• ‘Expert-level’ knowledge of SQL; experience with Alteryx is a plus.

• Proven experience (4+ years) as a Data Analyst or similar role.

• Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation products

• Experience with cloud engineering, knowledge of Microsoft Azure is a plus

• Exposure to predictive analytics (for example, ML), APIs.



Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience and knowledge of tax compliance processes.

• Experience of deploying technology solutions to aid process improvements and/or automation.
