Tax Assistant Manager, Corporate Tax


Location – London, Cambridge, Gatwick, Milton Keynes, Norwich, Watford


Our client’s London Region tax team is a fast-growing part of their tax practice. This current vacancy is for a Corporate Tax Advisory Manager.  They are looking for an excellent candidate with a proven track record who is seeking a dynamic and challenging working environment within a strong supportive leadership and management team. The marketplace is diverse with a client base of UK listed, PE backed, inbound and family owned groups.


The role

The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships, develop and continue to build successful teams, provide excellent client service and identify business development opportunities.  Our client services many sectors and many different types of clients offering a wide range of opportunity. The variety of work is a strength of the team, and typically if there’s something you want to get involved in, you will find it across the wider team. That doesn’t mean they don’t specialise too. The firm’s Partners and Directors often specialise in different sectors; varying from Retail, International Tax, Real Estate, Private Enterprise and Public Sector to name a few.

Key responsibilities

  • Be market facing with allocated clients and target organisations.
  • Lead by example with client relationships, technical quality and service delivery.
  • Being a leader within the team for personal growth and development.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and identifying leads for new work.
  • Managing teams and, coaching and developing staff to continue to build the team for the future.
  • Liaising with the client service team and with colleagues in other tax disciplines as well as the audit and accounting discipline to provide a co-ordinated service to the client.
  • Actively promote team and personal profile to internal networks in order to promote collaboration and increase internal leads
  • Being involved in business development and proposal activity
  • Hold and control high level conversations with senior stakeholders in the markets and be capable of introducing relevant specialists from across the firm
  • Identify key client issues that represent opportunities for other teams to capitalise on and play active role in introductions.



Skills and attributes

  • Strong educational background (preferably 2:1 or higher University degree)
  • ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified with strong corporate tax and accounting knowledge
  • Note: Where corporation tax experience is achieved in the absence of qualifications, please do consider applying.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills
