The role
Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join the EMEA Tax Department based in London or in Luxembourg to support the firm’s cloud computing business, focusing on corporation tax advisory.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently whilst liaising with both the tax team and the wider business as it continually expands both its offerings and footprint within EMEA. The role will focus on corporate tax matters including the interaction with withholding, indirect, transfer pricing and other tax areas.
Advising the business will require the candidate to advise on a variety of topics and multiples jurisdictions in EMEA. This is a corporation tax advisory role which may include liaising with other tax and compliance functions as well as other business lines within the firm. There will also be scope for dealing with ad-hoc enquiries and during audits.
This role can be filled in London or Luxembourg.
Key responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating tax requirements for country expansions and new program launches.
- Providing relevant tax guidance to the business whilst working to build relationships and understanding with the business so that adherence is maintained.
- Supporting on ad-hoc projects such a restructuring or transactions involving the business.
- Researching international tax issues and working with outside advisers as necessary as part of the tax team supporting business initiatives.
- Engaging with outside tax advisors to support tax projects.
Skills and attributes
Basic
- Bachelor’s degree or alternative relevant business qualifications (eg Chartered Tax Adviser, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) or relevant experience / qualification with Tax Authorities
- Demonstrable experience in indirect tax, preferably in the EU (experience gained in advisory, rather than compliance)
- Experience gained working in a business involved in multinational activities (ie not just domestic) within an indirect tax function or a legal or accountancy firm, or tax authorities with exposure to multinational taxpayers / cross-border transactions.
