Our client’s Real Estate Tax Team is a partner led, multidisciplinary team of tax professionals specifically dedicated to advising domestic and international clients across the real estate, hospitality and construction sectors. They currently have fifteen tax professionals on their team, including directors, senior managers, a manager, an assistant manager and trainees at every level. Our client is looking to recruit at various levels and are specifically seeking a tax senior manager to join their team.
As a senior manager in our client’s real estate tax practice, you’ll have the opportunity to work with their marquee clients on some of the largest real estate transactions in the Irish marketplace, as well as managing the relationships with these clients, and driving the delivery of quality tax planning and compliance services. In return, you can expect the support of a close knit and cohesive team, with engaging colleagues, and you’ll be presented with a significant opportunity to progress your career to a senior level in a rapidly growing tax sub-service line within a dynamic and ever-expanding Tax and Law practice.
The role
Our client’s practice area has trebled in size over the last three years, and the firm has ambitious plans to continue that growth. With assistance from a very supportive and integrated team you can expect to enhance and develop your tax technical skills, your management techniques, your client relationship skills and commercial experience. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, to manage account and client relationships and to mentor trainees and more junior management colleagues, as well as learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities as they arise.
The firm’s clients are building, developing and investing in the infrastructure we see around us every day and you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role as a trusted advisor in supporting these projects. You will also support government and semi-state organisations, where the firm has an extensive client base, with real estate tax related matters, including advising on tax compliance frameworks and policies.
Key responsibilities
You’ll spend your time on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities and tasks. One of the main focal points of your work will be advising on transactions against the backdrop of the increasingly complex international tax environment. This will include, in particular, due diligence in relation to asset and corporate acquisitions, and advising on the structuring of investments and development projects. A significant element of the team’s work comprises supporting colleagues in the firm’s international network and advising clients on inbound investment and development opportunities in Ireland. In this context, our client has a very strong international real estate network, and they work in a very integrated way with their colleagues across the network. Their team is essentially a sub-set of a much larger international real estate tax team that operates in a seamless and cohesive manner across jurisdictions. This creates very significant opportunities in an Irish context given the level of international investment in real estate in Ireland.
Whatever you’re working on, clients will turn to you for up-to-the-minute tax advice they can rely on. To make that happen, our client will look to you to implement your knowledge of tax concepts and law and to project manage the delivery of top-quality advice to clients such that they optimise their tax position, but always in the context of the overriding commercial objectives in undertaking the transaction. You’ll be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role.
