Location – Dublin, Republic of Ireland
This role is for a Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Grant Specialist, with experience of the Irish and/or EU RDI grant funding landscape, as our client looks to accelerate the growth of their Innovation Incentives practice. You will be required to use your practical experience and knowledge of the landscape to help clients in preparing and coordinating RDI grant applications to national and EU funding instruments, in addition to assisting with funding drawdown and progress reporting. Open to a flexible role involving a hybrid of RDI Grant and R&D tax credit incentive consulting (experience in either will be considered).
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Assist clients to avail of and maximise national and EU grant incentives for their innovation activities.
- Contribute to or Manage (all levels considered) complex client engagements, either as a sole applicant or involving multiple collaborative partners, under tight time constraints.
- Determine and map potential areas of funding eligibility and opportunity to a clients’ RDI activities and put in place a project management framework to coordinate successful bid applications.
- Facilitate a robust reporting structure and communication with team members, including collaboration with relevant state agencies and our Global RDI Incentives team across Europe.
- Maintain relevant industry knowledge and participate in business development as required.
Skills and attributes
Essential
- A broad understanding of the national RDI infrastructure (Research Performing Organisations, Research Centres, Technology Gateways etc.) and key stakeholders (Research Performers, National Contact Points, R&D Programme Managers, Centre Managers etc.).
- A broader understanding of national (IDA, EI, SFI, SEAI, IRC etc.) and EU funding instruments (Horizon Europe, Innovation Fund, LIFE etc.).
- Experience of working on different RDI projects, either as a researcher or a research manager.
- Experience in preparation of high quality RDI grant proposals and budgets for submission to national and/or EU funding instruments, including knowledge of how to navigate relevant submission portals.
- The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and coordinate partners as part of a bid consortium.
- Excellent communication skills in a range of situations both written and oral.
- Capable of communicating confidently and knowledgably with junior members, Managers, Senior Managers, Directors and Partners within the firm.
- Excellent project management skills and an ability to manage own workload (as well as junior members of the team).

Desired
- Preparation of R&D tax credit claims, advising clients in relation to same in a consultant capacity and/or an openness to learn about the R&D tax credit regime with potential for a hybrid consultant role spanning RDI grant and R&D tax incentives.
- Knowledge of research actions across Environment, Climate, Sustainability, and/or Advanced Manufacturing. However, all backgrounds will be considered.
