Our client’s Private Client Services (PCS) team is part of the Domestic International & Outbound tax department. Within PCS they have a specific team which specialises in the area of incentivisation including share valuations. They advise SMEs, large corporations and high net worth individuals on incentivisation plans domestically and internationally to reward and retain staff within the business.
The firm’s clients are in different life cycles of their business from start ups to more established businesses and would be from a broad range of sectors including tech/digital, pharmaceutical, retail, asset management, banking, aviation, construction and real estate space. The team provides advice on many different aspects of incentivisation by providing innovative solutions to suit their business/personal circumstances. They work as a team utilising their wide range of experience, contacts and the firm’s network to provide a solution for all clients’ business needs within this area.
The role
Our client’s Private Clients incentivisation team advise a number of clients in the area of incentivisation which includes the following:
- Management/staff incentivisation for private businesses including design and implementation of schemes to retain and motivate staff to grow the business
- Deal support for management and the company on exits/rollovers
- Unwinding incentive plans pre IPO/resetting equity plans for changes in strategy
- Deferred consideration aspects of deals
- Pre and post sale structuring for management
- Share valuations for private company plans
The incentivisation team works closely with other teams in the firm’s network on international aspects of the above.
Key responsibilities
You will gain comprehensive experience across a range of incentivisation areas including; input into management incentive plans for a number of corporate clients, advising on the implications of M&A transactions for management teams, and share valuations.
As a PCS Incentivisation Senior Tax Manager/ Tax Manager, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping clients develop, advise and implement incentivisation plans. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coach team members and drive the team to make a difference and deliver results in a responsible, authentic and passionate manner.

Skills and attributes
- At least 6 years experience in a role specialising in either tax/incentivisation or valuations. It is not essential that a Candidate has experience in both areas.
- Strong academic record with a Degree in accounting, economics, finance, or law and be a Qualified accountant. Alternatively have gained the AITI/CTA qualification.
- Technology – strong numerical and spreadsheet skills.
- Business Acumen – use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the market and utilise this information to assist your clients in making smart and innovative business decisions in the incentivisation area.
- Relationship management – ability to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships.
- Creative – demonstrate an ability to contribute to new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Enthusiastic team player with a passion to coach and encourage others to achieve their potential.
- Ambitious – demonstrate strong commitment to personal learning and development.
