Our client’s indirect tax technology team specialises in assisting organisations to respond to the rapid changing regulatory and technology landscapes by creating a clearly defined and risk-focused framework and transformation strategy supported by a future proof technology business case.
The team empowers organisations to implement tax technology solutions which activate tax transformation outcomes underpinned by an operating model and technology investment that results in best in class and best in cost outcomes through the tax life cycle process.
They also work closely with technology teams across all taxes and the wider finance transformation landscape.
The role
Our client is looking for an innovative and driven indirect tax technology manager to drive a key focus area within their overall transformation service offering with specialisation in ERP tax planning, determination, controls, reporting and governance. This role would have specific focus on SAP and S4H implementation and related support services but would also extend to other ERP systems like Oracle and MS 365.
The Indirect tax and technology team work with multinational clients to ensure they select and implement fir for purpose technology solutions and implement in the most efficient and compliant manner. While this role is based in Dublin, the team is integrated with the firm’s network over many jurisdictions to ensure clients’ needs are fully addressed.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for the functional and technical requirements and realisation of SAP and other ERP implementation projects that includes planning, requirements gathering, solution design, tax configuration, testing, knowledge transfer, and cutover support for multiple projects at one time.
- Performing ad hoc ERP health checks with a strong understanding of indirect tax related processes, master data, tax configuration setups, transactional flows and reporting requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise to clients related to SAP, selective alternative ERP solutions like MS 365 and Oracle, and indirect tax functions and integrations
- Lead project sessions related to defining and documenting functional and technical requirements, business process, and data impacts inherent in implementing SAP (S4H) and other ERP solutions
- Provide guidance to other resources in the organization such as consultants on projects/technical skills as well as general professional development and training
- Conduct business development activities to generate new and additional business opportunities
- Project Management and tracking and regular feedback to management
- Supporting management with new business development initiatives

Essential
- Relevant qualifications
- 4 years + applicable experience in industry or practice
- Strong S4H SD, MM, or FI modules experience, with specialisation in indirect tax
- SAP Document and Compliance Reporting experience will be beneficial
- Subject matter expertise for tax processes and integrations
- Project Management skills and experience
- Experience of working in and leading teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired
- Experience with data science and visualisation tools like Alteryx, Power BI etc.
- Specific industry experience and vision of how indirect tax challenges affect operations and system requirements
- Good presentation and communication skills
