The Role:
This position is essential in providing legal guidance and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include advising on contractual, legal, and regulatory matters to effectively manage the firm’s risk exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and align our clients policies and procedures with local laws and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to establish a legal strategy, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes, evaluate their impact, and implement necessary adjustments.
- Proactively anticipate national and regional policy shifts, developing strategies to minimise their impact on the firm.
- Represent our client in legal disputes and coordinate with external legal counsel for optimal case management.
- Provide strategic legal advice to the partnership group, including guidance on complex legal issues, firm structure, and growth initiatives.
- Implement effective risk management practices by identifying potential legal risks and advising on mitigation measures.
- Investigate internal misconduct cases in accordance with labor laws, in collaboration with the Talent & Culture team.
- Evaluate legal risks associated with our clients business proposals and contracts, offering recommendations to support decision-making.
- Review, negotiate, and advise on contract terms, legal liabilities, and risk exposure across various agreements.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and licensing authorities regarding registrations, de-registrations, liquidations, and other legal matters.
- Support service delivery teams through training, checklist preparation, and monitoring corporate law compliance for clients.
- Maintain and update our clients contractual libraries while providing training on contract templates.
- Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with relevant corporate laws.
- Identify and evaluate legal risks related to business transactions and activities.
- Uphold the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
Skills and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in law.
- Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years in a senior management or leadership role.
- Corporate legal counsel experience.
- Postgraduate legal accreditation is preferable.
- Excellent knowledge and application of local labour laws and regulations.
- Understanding of the Audit, Advisory & Tax industry is advantageous.
- A strong analytical skills and commercial awareness.
- Demonstrate flexible working style and exemplary interpersonal skills.
- Ability to confidently interact and influence at a senior level.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English, Arabic is advantageous.
- Strong relationships with key government entities and legal institutions.
- Good attention to detail.
