The role
Our client is looking for a primarily compliance focussed specialist, but with opportunities to provide advisory, accounting/tax audit and tax technology services to a range of large corporate clients from a range of sectors.
The primary responsibility will involve managing large scale and complex CT compliance and reporting engagements and related client relationships. Other responsibilities include managing and developing the team; process improvement and introduction of technology; business development and opportunity spotting for other parts of the firm; financial management and assisting with the leadership of the Midlands offices.
Key to the role is for the individual to be very organised, forward thinking and have a broad technical knowledge. They need to be able to pro-actively manage a team handling large scale compliance projects.

Skills and attributes
Our client is looking for someone with:
- Significant understanding of and previous experience within corporate tax compliance and tax reporting
- In-depth, and up to date, tax technical knowledge and the ability to identify and deal with complex tax issues
- Ability to manage large scale projects and competing deadlines on-time and with high-quality deliverables
- Ability to ensure projects are undertaken efficiently but whilst managing risk appropriately
- Experience of, and the enthusiasm and drive to manage, coach and develop junior team members
- Ability to undertake tax reporting for clients under FRS102, FRS101 and IFRS
- Good communication skills to build strong relationships with senior management at clients and also develop a strong internal and external network
- Ability to help develop the business both by identifying and winning new clients, but also spotting opportunities for selling new services to existing clients
- ACA or CTA qualified
- Alphatax knowledge helpful but not essential
