The role
Our client is seeking a talented individual to join their National Accounting Technical Group team in London, which is responsible for playing a key role in managing the firm’s regulatory and reputational risk in an increasingly challenging environment. They’re embedded in the ABS departments in London, Bristol, Southampton, and Dublin, proud to work closely with audit partners and staff to provide accounting and auditing advice that’s relevant, timely, and practical, not just compliant. The firm provides engaging training on emerging issues in a variety of formats to clients and internal teams. They manage their own bespoke audit methodology to ensure the high audit quality expected of a top 10 firm. They lead the firm’s relationships with FRC and ICAEW, sitting on a number of committees to ensure their views are heard.
Key responsibilities
- Maintenance and development of the audit methodology and platform in conjunction with other members of NATG.
- Ensuring procedures comply with current regulation and best practice.
- Reviewing and updating effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
- To provide assistance to the ABS department in respect of auditing compliance matters in conjunction with other members of NATG.
Skills and attributes
- Accounting qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA).
- Good knowledge of Auditing Standards, UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Project management skills and experience of getting things implemented in practice.
