We’ve got an exciting opportunity to join our client’s Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions tax team, working within their International Transaction Tax Service (ITTS), who are recognised as being leaders in cross border M&A. You will be working with some of the largest corporations in the world, advising them on their M&A deals. Working within our client’s International Transaction Tax Service (ITTS) in particular sectors or areas of the M&A landscape or to get experience across the spectrum.
You will be working with some of the sector leading Partners who are well known and respected in the market. You’ll also be working with a high performing team who have advised on many high profile and market leading transactions over the past few years.
It is a great time to join the team who have expanded exponentially in recent years and are continuing to grow. With a number of disrupting factors in the market at the moment you’ll be at the forefront of helping clients to navigate the market challenges on an international scale.
The role
In this team, you will get wide-ranging experience in all the core areas of the deal cycle, including tax structuring, sell and buy side tax due diligence, funds flows, SPA reviews and refinancings.
As deal advisers, International Transaction Tax team members not only get good UK tax technical experience but also get a commercial understanding of what is important to clients in a deal context. As a large part of ITTS work is cross-border, you will also have an early introduction to international structuring techniques and overseas tax regimes.
Our client is currently looking to expand their Corporate M&A Tax team and are keen to speak with experienced Tax Managers and Senior Managers.
Key responsibilities
You will contribute to the efficient and successful delivery of tax services to the client, building and maintaining tax relationships with clients to provide high levels of client service. You’ll contribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and ensure technical excellence and a practical/business focus approach.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, winning work proactively and contributing to winning new clients
- High level management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding transaction tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical / business focused approach taken
- Overall responsibility of quality of client service
- Manage possible leads from other areas of the practice
- Build networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage from
- Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
- Contribute to people initiatives, including retaining and training transaction tax professionals
- Significant involvement in the management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and through managing junior staff development and assignments

- Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines
- Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff
- Ensure delivery of quality work and take day to day management of delivery team

- Strong knowledge and experience within transaction/M&A tax
To qualify for the role you must have
- ACA/ATT/CTA or international equivalent / Law qualification
- Degree qualified
- Experience in transaction tax
- Strong transaction tax technical skills
