The role
The role is based in London, although the wider team operates on a national basis, so that no matter where individuals are located, they bring the best experts to their PE backed clients and the broadest range of opportunities to their people. The team’s client base is truly international and they pride themselves on the strength of their network.
The role would suit a candidate with a strong corporate tax background, a good awareness of other taxes, as well as experience of managing client accounts. Experience of transaction work and/or the Private Equity market is desirable, but not essential as full training and support would be provided.
Key responsibilities
- You will be responsible for managing members of a growing team and providing tax advisory services to a range of PE portfolio company clients.
- Manage and deliver bespoke tax advice in relation to PE portfolio companies
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and junior members of the team. In particular, working closely with clients to provide proactive, innovative and commercial tax advice.
- Seek specialist input from other parts of tax, non-UK teams and other lines of service. Be proactive in seeking business development opportunities helping to identify and progress opportunities with new/existing clients.
- Use technical knowledge and experience to help develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges for clients.
- Take responsibility for developing your own and the team’s technical and business acumen; keeping up to date with business and economic issues, industry insights and sharing your experience and technical knowledge as part of a team to solve important problems.
Skills and attributes
- Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICAEW, ICAS, CAI) or Chartered Tax Advisor (ATT, CTA) or equivalent international or legal professional qualification.
- Significant UK corporate tax skills as well as good awareness of other taxes (VAT, employment taxes, management taxes etc)
- You will have a flexible approach and be able to manage a number of clients / projects simultaneously
- You will have experience of developing and maintaining strong relationships, both internally and with clients.
- You will need strong analytical skills and a proven ability to solve complex problems in a collaborative and creative way.
- You will have experience of project managing and delegating work within a team context, with excellent communication skills.
- You will have a focus on self-development and in the development of others in your teams.
